Desk name plate sizes and printing guide
A standard 3D printed desk name plate measures 15–25 cm wide and 3–6 cm tall — large enough to read across a desk, small enough to print in one piece on any bed of 220 × 220 mm or bigger. In the generator, set Size to 35–45 and Depth to 8–12 mm so the letters have real presence.
- Material: PLA prints the sharpest letters. Black or white for a corporate look; silk gold or metallic silver for an executive feel.
- Orientation: print flat, letters facing up — no supports needed and the top surface stays clean.
- Layer height: 0.16–0.2 mm is plenty for text this size; a nameplate prints in 1–2 hours.
- Bold fonts (Bebas Neue, Russo One) survive daily desk handling far better than thin serifs.
